Best ways remote team collaborate? Sometimes it's hard to keep up

Hey, so I’m working with a remote tech team and it’s been a bit tough to keep everyone on the same page. You know how it is when everyone’s scattered around – it can feel like we’re talking to ourselves.

Do you have any tips for keeping a remote tech team connected and collaborating effectively?

What tool are you using? Discord, Slack, Teams, Skype… ect.? For me, it sounds like a communication issue so you need a better communication tool. If people are working on a client project and lot of communication is taking place, but you are still getting lost with lots of detail being passed around, then do not be shy to talk to the project manager or ask for better designs.

great question :star_struck:! also it’s not just about work but also for team building. I’m on a Slack group with lots of channels, #general-chat, #random, #news, #feedback, #promotion. So much stuff is happening in each one, it’s hard to keep up when you have deadlines and you have to scroll to see what’s going on. :innocent:

:slightly_smiling_face: Share an Idea that is true for messages regarding work, daily updates can make sense. If it’s constant messages for team building perhaps a weekly / monthly newsletter can be sent out. I think this is how some other online forums manage it. Quaterly events possibly with some monthly updates about the team, otherwise it can distract away from work. :crying_cat_face:

I try to juggle a few forums and groups. I either catchup over lunch or leave it to the end of the day. For work we have to reply so I’m constantly monitoring those channels but other channels can wait. haha
